August 16th as part of Create Eugene, I will be giving an introduction to creating tile mosaics. We will be using cement pavers as the base for the mosaic and broken tiles for the design. If you have materials that you would like to incorporate like marbles, stones, or glass tiles feel free to bring them.

Step 1 is a 2.5 hour class where you will be designing and adhering the tiles to the paver, so be thinking ahead of time what you would like to do or you can do something abstract in the moment. 

Step 2 is grouting your mosaic, and Step 3 is sealing your mosaic. Drying time is required between each step, 24 to 48 hours. Step 2 and 3 will be completed at another time that works for both of us. The second and third steps take progressively less time to complete. 

If you have any tile mosaic tools like tile and glass nippers, or a hammer please bring them. Wear clothes that you can get messy. Bring something to drink, hat, etc. as we will be outside.

Time slots are: 10 am, 12:30 pm, and 3 pm.

This is a diptych that I created a year ago tonight at my September 2012 First Friday Show at the Eugene Piano Academy.  This is the first diptych, and so far only diyptuch I have painted, and it was quite fun painting it on black canvas. This painting is loaded with the great, boundless and joyful energy that happy dogs live.
